This programme offers you an introduction to teaching abroad. You will gain knowledge and experience in teaching through one-on-one conversations and group activities with Spanish teenagers, while studying towards a 120-hour TEFL certificate. During the programme you will:
Please note that this programme gives you teaching experience through leading games and conversational activities, rather than formal classroom teaching. This is a chance to develop your teaching skills through one-on-one and group activities.
This programme takes place in a rural area near Salamanca in northwestern Spain. The English camp takes place in a beautiful rural setting, where you will gain valuable teaching experience while doing fun outdoor and indoor activities.
The camp’s mission is to transmit language learning in a fun way, inspiring young people to go further with learning a language, while also boosting their confidence and teamwork.
This means that you will gain teaching experience while also doing fun activities and learning about Spain and Spanish culture.
We also recommend Interrailing to and from the camp to add to the adventure and to experience backpacking. After the camp, you can continue travels around Spain, why not step out onto the Camino de Santiago to take time to reflect on your experience and see more of Spain? We offer support and advice from a team that includes both experienced travellers and qualified teachers, on top of the support that is offered by the camp you are on.
We want to make teaching and travel more accessible. For this short-term introduction to TEFL teaching, you benefit from funding that covers:
Please note that for this programme you are responsible for your own travel costs (flights or interrail) and for any other pre-departure costs, such as a DBS or visa (if required).
Interrailing allows you to traverse the continent on your way to and from your summer camp. Turn your spring work experience into a real adventure.
You can take your adventure further by setting off on the Camino de Santiago at the end of the camp, to reflect on your experience and to see more of Spain.
