What do you get?

Our short-term Thailand Teaching Programme is your launchpad for a global and impactful career. On the programme, you will receive:

  • Meals and accommodation.
  • TESOL/TEFL training and  certification
  • Placement in a supportive school in rural Thailand with accommodation and meals covered, and extensive cultural activities.
  • Professional development mentoring and training throughout your time in Thailand, with a focus on teaching and social enterprise. We do this so that your fellowship with us becomes a first step in a lifetime of interesting and impactful living.
  • Personal and community support
The schools on this programme are in rural areas, meaning you are immersed in local culture. However, this does mean that you need to be prepared for a rural lifestyle.

What does the teaching involve?

You will be teaching English to local Thai students, usually in a primary school setting. The Thai school year is split into two terms, one in November-March and the other in May-October.  We invite you to join us for a segment of a term, in order to gain basic skills, work experience and insights into what life is like as a TEFL teacher here.

  • You will be teaching English to local Thai students, usually in a primary school from Monday to Friday.
  • You will be in a smaller town or rural area to give you a chance to be immersed in local culture, usually in central and northern Thailand, with at least two other Gotoco’ers and continuous community support from our team.
  • You will have funding to cover your meals, accommodation.
  • You will receive continuous professional development support and mentoring to support you in your teaching and with your future career plans.
