Can you please tell us about some of your most enjoyable moments of the trip?

Staying with a host family was the most memorable experience I have ever had when traveling to a different country. They took me to many local places, treated me like their own daughter and helped me learn more about Chinese language and culture. I developed a very close relationship with my family and intend to visit them next year.

Which were the highlights of the lessons, cultural excursions and outdoor activities?

The first week of teaching was very exhausting, especially because I did receive almost no teacher training and was very much on my own. However, when I found out more about my students during break and could teach classes more easily during the second and third week of the program, I felt very proud of myself and my students.

How would you say the overall experience has benefited you?

I have always been interested in Chinese culture and language, and staying with a host family an interacting with Chinese children on an everyday basis truly deepened my knowledge about China.

What was the best thing about your experience in China?

Staying with my host family!
